She was born November 2, 1965, in Detroit, Michigan, and raised on Detroit’s east side. After working more than thirty-odd jobs — including waitress, nurse’s aide, office maintenance worker — she entered Detroit’s Wayne State University in 1994 and received her bachelor’s degree in social work in 1996. After graduation, Sharon began a career in social work.
In 1998 Sharon returned to Wayne State where she received her master’s degree in social work in 1999. She then began work as a psychotherapist. The Color Blue is Sharon’s first book and is a personal memoir. She details the tragic circumstances she overcame, how she found God in the midst of it all, and how she turned her life around. She hopes that The Color Blue will offer hope and encouragement to others who have suffered rape, rejection, abuse or neglect.

Sharon surrounds herself with positive, motivated people and she welcomes everyone with the spirit of gold, the scent of frankincense and the bitterness of myrrh, which translates into self-worth, motivation and the power of forgiving.
Sharon plans to continue her work in the mental-health field, pursue her doctorate and write her second book, Broken People.

Sharon would love to hear from her readers. Please email her at pendana2@yahoo.com to schedule speaking engagements, individual or group therapy, life coaching or for additional copies of her book.
